Setting Up a Clay Account
Clay offers a free plan to get started, with options to upgrade for more advanced features.
- Visit clay.com and click "Try for free."
- Provide your name, email address, and create a password.
- Optionally, connect data sources like LinkedIn or email during onboarding to import contacts.
- Download Clay's desktop or mobile apps if desired — available for iOS, Mac, Windows, and web.
The free plan includes unlimited users, up to 100 searches per query, AI tools, and access to 100+ data providers. No credit card required.
Integrating Clay with ChatGPT
The integration requires a ChatGPT Plus subscription (or Business/Enterprise for teams).
- Log into ChatGPT and access the app directory via the sidebar or chatgpt.com/apps.
- Search for "Clay" in the store.
- Click to add or connect — authenticate via OAuth if you have an account, or create one for 500 free credits.
- For Enterprise or Edu workspaces, admins must enable apps in settings first.
- Once connected, you're redirected back to ChatGPT, ready to use.

Invoke Clay by typing @Clay or selecting it from the Tools menu.
